TL;DR: The first spherical hohlraum energetics experiment is accomplished on the SGIII-prototype laser facility and it is indicated that the radiation temperatures measured by the FXRDs depend on the observation angles and are related to the view field.
Journal ArticleDOI

M. Campbell,Xian-Tu He +38 more
TL;DR: The role of hohlraum geometry in LPI is demonstrated and the need for systematic experiments for choosing the optimal configuration for ignition studies with indirect drive inertial confinement fusion is demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Determination of the hohlraum M-band fraction by a shock-wave technique on the SGIII-prototype laser facility.
Wen Yi Huo,Ke Lan,Yongsheng Li,Dong Yang,Sanwei Li,Xin Li,Changshu Wu,Guoli Ren,Yiqing Zhao,Shiyang Zou,Wudi Zheng,Peijun Gu,Min Wang,Rongqing Yi,Xiaohua Jiang,Tianming Song,Zhichao Li,Liang Guo,Yonggang Liu,Xiayu Zhan,Feng Wang,Xiaoshi Peng,Huan Zhang,Jiamin Yang,Shenye Liu,Shaoen Jiang,Yongkun Ding +26 more
TL;DR: The results from this method are complementary to those from the broadband x-ray spectrometer, and the technique can be further used to determine T(R) and f(M) inside an ignition hohlraum.
Journal ArticleDOI
First Octahedral Spherical Hohlraum Energetics Experiment at the SGIII Laser Facility.

TL;DR: The experimental results show that the octahedral spherical hohlraum radiation temperature is in the range of 170-182 eV with drive laser energies of 71 kJ to 84 kJ, and the radiation temperature inside the hohlRAum determined by the shock wave technique is about 175 e V at 71 KJ.
Journal ArticleDOI
Radiation flux study of spherical hohlraums at the SGIII prototype facility
Xufei Xie,Zhichao Li,Sanwei Li,Yunbao Huang,Longfei Jing,Dong Yang,Wenyi Huo,Yaohua Chen,Ke Lan,Ke Lan,Liang Guo,Xiaohua Jiang,Lifei Hou,Huabing Du,Yonggang Liu,Huan Zhang,Xiaoshi Peng,Tao Xu,Chaoguang Li,Xiayu Zhan,Feng Wang,Jiamin Yang,Shenye Liu,Shaoen Jiang,Yongkun Ding +24 more
TL;DR: An octahedral spherical hohlraum is a promising candidate in target design for inertial confinement fusion study, because of its potential superiority in uniform radiation and efficient coupling as discussed by the authors, and it is used in the Shenguang-III prototype laser facility by using spherical Hohlraums with two cylindrical laser entrance holes.
