In accordance with embodiments, there are provided mechanisms and methods for facilitating an auction-based fair allocation and usage of thread resources for user messages according to one embodiment in an on-demand services environment. In one embodiment and by way of example, a method includes receiving job requests and bids from a plurality of organizations over a network, where each job request and the corresponding bid is placed by a user associated with an organization having a resource currency value within a multi-tenant database system via a user interface at a computing device over the network, determining resource currency values associated with pending jobs relating to the plurality of organizations, wherein the resource currency values corresponds to resources dedicated to the pending jobs, and performing an auction of the received bids for resources that are not dedicated and remains available for purchase, where a bid includes a purchase request to purchase the available resources. The method may further include prioritizing the job requests based on the dedicated resources and the auction of the available resources, and processing the job requests based on the prioritized job requests.

Auction-based resource sharing for message queues in an on-demand services environment

The invention provides a load balancing device and a load balancing method both of which can improve resource distributing efficiency while can balance the service distribution of servers and flow distribution of a route. The services are divided into a plurality of service blocks according to the server resource requirements and network transmission resource requirements of the services, spare server resources and spare network transmission resources of a data center network are divided into a plurality of resource blocks, the spare server resources and the spare network transmission resources of the data center network are monitored, a corresponding relation between the combination, specific to a server, of the spare server resources and the spare network transmission resources and the resource blocks is set, the service block to which the request requirement entering the data center network belongs is identified, and the combination of the spare server resources and the spare network transmission resources is distributed to the service request based on the corresponding relation between the service block and the corresponding resource block.

Load balancing device and load balancing method

The study of routing protocols in wireless sensor networks has been addressed to improve the usage of limited network resources. In this paper, we give in detailed survey of flat routing protocols (flooding, data centric and forwarding) based on network structure in wireless sensor networks, while providing the advantages and disadvantages of each routing protocol. By taking into account several parameters, some of routing protocols in this category will be compared. This paper also highlights the associated problem and application type designated for each protocol.

A Survey on Flat Routing Protocols in Wireless Sensor Networks

In order to ensure and enforce endpoint security, Network Access Control (NAC) is attracting considerable interest from the research community. Most NAC architectures are based on 802.1x, EAP (Extensible Authentication Protocol), EAPoL (EAP over LAN) 802.11i, 802.11w, and RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service) protocols. Unprotected management and control frames in some of above protocols lead to several attacks. Eliminating flaws completely in design of each protocol is a challenge. These flaws help malicious user and infected endpoint to intrude into the NAC architecture to make damage into it. Many researches have been carried out to address this issue. In this paper, we have made an attempt to explain attacks in above protocols and present a survey and analysis of different solution approaches proposed by researchers. The affect of vulnerability and attack of above protocols in NAC is also discussed. The finding of this review will provide useful insights into the vulnerabilities, attacks in above protocols, and their proposed solutions with issues, which may create a research scope for strengthening security in NAC.

Attacks Due to Flaw of Protocols Used In Network Access Control (NAC), Their Solutions and Issues: A Survey

In grid environment,resource load prediction is one of the most important problems in resource allocation optimization.But load status is difficult to estimate accurately due to the dynamic nature and heterogeneity of grid resource.In response to this issue,a resource allocation strategy that uses sequential game method to predict resource load for time optimization in a proportional resource sharing environment is proposed.The problem of multiple users bidding to compete for a common computational resource is formulated as a multi-player dynamic game.Through finding the Nash equilibrium solution of the multi-player dynamic game,resource load is predicted.Using this load information,a set of user optimal bids is produced to partition resource capacity according to proportional sharing mechanism.The experiments are performed based on the GridSim toolkits and the results show that the proposed strategy could generate reasonable user bids,reduce resource processing time,hence overcome the deficiency of Bredin's strategy,which is not concerned with resource load variation.The conclusion indicates that employing sequential game method for load prediction is feasible in grid resource allocation and adapts better to the dynamic nature of heterogeneous resource in grid environment.

-Network security plays an important part in LAN system. The 802.1X protocol provides a port-based network access control to the LAN. In this paper, three cases of user name attacks against the 802.1X are given firstly. Then, the design flaws of 802.1X system are analyzed. At last, an improved authentication process is presented and how to prevent the user name attacks is discussed.

On Authentication System Based on 802.1X Protocol in LAN

Directed Diffusion (DD) of Wireless Sensor Networks is a flat routing model, in which the periodical diffusion of exploratory data adopts flooding diffusion. This strategy will inevitably bring about heavy traffic load and affect seriously transmission performance of network. Based on this flaw, an improved ant colony algorithm is presented and applied to DD, called IACA-DD. The foundation of gradients is based on pheromone of ants and remnant energy of nodes in IACA-DD, which could balance the energy consumption of networks. The experimental evaluation proves the feasibility of IACA-DD, and the simulation results indicate that IACA-DD could efficiently trade off the energy consumption of networks and prolong the survivability of networks.

An Energy Efficient Directed Diffusion Model for Wireless Sensor Networks

It is a key problem to allocate the utility when grid resources form coalition to complete grid tasks as well as to increase overall utility. Aim at the situation, firstly, the cooperative game theory is applied to build resource coalition. Secondly, an optimal resource allocation is presented by Min-Cost algorithm based on the minimum cost and a new grid resource utility allocation algorithm based on Sharpley value is proposed. At last, the numerical results of the grid example show that the grid resource coalition can not only improve the executing efficiency of tasks, but also trade off the utility allocation among coalition members.

A Strategy of Gird Resource Utility Allocation Based on Shapley Value

Aiming at addressing the problem of optimal allocation of grid resource, a stochastic dynamics model is proposed to research evolutionary game of resource allocation in finite grid population in this paper. The focal point of this model is using a Moran process with frequency dependent selection to find the condition for selection favoring the invasion index and fixation index of gird user’s strategy during the repeated game. Then, according to the characteristics of economic grid, we establish a fixed utility matrix of grid users to quantify the strategy selection dynamics. The numerical experiments show that the strategy of individuals will develop towards different directions under different grid population size for maximizing its own utility.
