TL;DR: By introducing laser oscillation in erbium-doped fiber amplifiers, the four-wave mixing effect is successfully suppressed and improvement of the amplifier performance is achieved as mentioned in this paper, which implies that this suggested approach can be applied in the practical dense wavelength-division multiplexing systems to minimize channel crosstalk.
