All-optical AND gate at 10 Gbit/s based on cascaded single-port-couple SOAs.
TL;DR: An all-optical logical AND gate at 10 Gbit/s based on cross-gain modulation (XGM) in two cascaded semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs) is demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bandwidth and wavelength-tunable optical bandpass filter based on silicon microring-MZI structure.
Yunhong Ding,Minhao Pu,Liu Liu,Jing Xu,Christophe Peucheret,Xinliang Zhang,Dexiu Huang,Haiyan Ou +7 more
TL;DR: A novel and simple bandwidth and wavelength-tunable optical bandpass filter based on silicon microrings in a Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) structure is proposed and demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ultrawideband monocycle generation using cross-phase modulation in a semiconductor optical amplifier
TL;DR: A novel scheme to generate ultrawideband (UWB) monocycle pulses based on cross-phase modulation of a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) and an optical bandpass filter (OBF).
Journal ArticleDOI
Multiwavelength erbium-doped fiber lasers exploiting polarization hole burning
TL;DR: In this article, an erbium-doped fiber laser was used for simultaneous multi-wavelength lasing, where the authors demonstrated that polarization hole burning can be enhanced by the changes of the light polarization states and bias current of optical MQW waveguide which serves as reflector in the laser.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fiber grating Sagnac loop and its multiwavelength-laser application
TL;DR: In this paper, a simple comb filter based on a Sagnac interferometer with a fiber Bragg grating asymmetrically located in its fiber loop was proposed for erbium-doped fiber ring laser.
