Cerium:A chemical tracer for paleo-oceanic redox conditions

TL;DR: Ce anomalies found in marine carbonates provide a sensitive indicator for the study of paleo-oceanic redox conditions as discussed by the authors, which can be used for deciphering some aspects of the paleo ocean chemistry, and is: log C Ce $ log α CePO 0 4 = 132 − 025 log P O 2 − 30 pH = −195 − 0 25 log P CO 2 + 150 log [Ca ++ ] The pH, which is related to PCO2, and PO2 are major factors for controlling the Ce concentration in seawater.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cretaceous Tertiary phenomena in the context of seafloor rearrangements and P(CO2) fluctuations over the past 100 m.y.

TL;DR: In this paper, a quantitative expression for relating rare earth elements (REEs) in seawater and in carbonate sediments has been derived, and the relative Ce depletion is expressed as the Ce anomaly, Ce A*.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Binders on Combustion of the Aluminum Powder

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated the flame speeds of aluminum powders coated with polyurethane (PU), Dioctyl sebacate (DOS), paraffin (PW), fluororubber (FR), and polyamide (PU) binders.
