Phase transformation and thermal expansion of MgNi alloys in a hydrogen atmosphere

TL;DR: In this article, the volume expansions of magnesium to MgH 2, Mg 2 Ni to high temperature Mg2 NiH 4 and high temperature MG 2 NiH4 to low temperature MG2NiH 4 were calculated from these data as 30.4% (0.2%) at 340 °C, 27.8% at 320°C and 0.3% at 234 °C respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crystal structure, phase abundance and electrode performance of Laves phase compounds (Zr, A)V0.5Ni1.1Mn0.2Fe0.2 (A Ti, Nb or Hf)

TL;DR: In this paper, the C14 and C15 Laves phases coexist for all alloys except TiM 2 (b.c.), Zr 0.25 Ti 0.c.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental measurements of thermal conductivity

TL;DR: In this paper, two experimental apparatuses based on a steady state method and a non-steady state method were constructed for measuring the effective thermal conductivity of metal hydrides.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crystal structure of multiphase alloys (Zr,Ti)(Mn,V)2

TL;DR: In this article, a qualitative phase relation was shown for the system (Zr,Ti)(Mn,V) 2, where the identified phases were: the C14 and C15 Laves phases, the η-carbide type oxide A 3 B 2 O, α-zirconium and the BCC solid solution.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phase transformations among three polymorphs of Mg2NiH4

TL;DR: In this paper, it was revealed that the unknown phase is another polymorph of Mg 2 Ni hydride which is easily transformed into the low temperature form by grinding the powder in a mortar at room temperature.
