Observation of direct photons in central 158A GeV (208)P(208)b+Pb collisions

Madan M. Aggarwal, +168 more
TL;DR: The result constitutes the first observation of direct photons in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions and could be significant for diagnosis of quark-gluon-plasma formation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Search for disoriented chiral condensates in 158 AGeV Pb+Pb collisions

Madan M. Aggarwal, +163 more
- 19 Feb 1998 -
TL;DR: In this article, a simple Disoriented Chiral Condensates (DCC) model was used to measure charged and photon multiplicities in the central region of 158 AGeV Pb+Pb collisions at the CERN SPS.
Journal ArticleDOI

Centrality Dependence of Neutral Pion Production in 158A GeV $^{208}$Pb+$^{208}$Pb Collisions

Madan M. Aggarwal, +163 more
TL;DR: In this article, the centrality dependence of the neutral pion spectral shape and yield was investigated in the WA98 experiment at the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS).
Journal ArticleDOI

Systematics of Inclusive Photon Production in 158·A GeV Pb Induced Reactions on Ni, Nb, and Pb Targets

Madan M. Aggarwal, +98 more
- 08 Jul 1999 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the multiplicity of inclusive photons has been measured on an event-by-event basis for 158· A GeV Pb induced reactions on Ni, Nb, and Pb targets.
Journal ArticleDOI

Localized charged-neutral fluctuations in 158A GeV Pb+Pb collisions

Madan M. Aggarwal, +169 more
- 01 Jul 2001 -
TL;DR: In this article, localized fluctuations in the multiplicity of charged particles and photons produced in central 158A GeV/c Pb+Pb collisions are studied, showing that no correlated charge-neutral fluctuations are observed, contrary to expectations for the production of disoriented chiral condensate.
