Journal ArticleDOI
Reflection-Symmetric Second-Order Topological Insulators and Superconductors
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that reflection symmetry can be employed to generate examples of second-order topological insulators and superconductors, although the topologically protected states at corners (in two dimensions) or at crystal edges (in three dimensions) continue to exist if reflection symmetry is broken.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electronic correlations in twisted bilayer graphene near the magic angle
Youngjoon Choi,Jeannette Kemmer,Yang Peng,Alex Thomson,Harpreet Singh Arora,Robert Polski,Yiran Zhang,Hechen Ren,Jason Alicea,Gil Refael,Felix von Oppen,Felix von Oppen,Kenji Watanabe,Takashi Taniguchi,Stevan Nadj-Perge +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used scanning tunnelling microscopy to probe the local properties of highly tunable twisted bilayer graphene devices and show that the flat bands deform when aligned with the Fermi level.
Journal ArticleDOI
End States and Subgap Structure in Proximity-Coupled Chains of Magnetic Adatoms.
Michael Ruby,Falko Pientka,Yang Peng,Felix von Oppen,Benjamin W. Heinrich,Katharina J. Franke +5 more
TL;DR: This work compares the symmetry properties of the data under voltage reversal against theoretical expectations and provides evidence that the putative Majorana signature overlaps with a previously unresolved low-energy resonance, and suggests that the topological gap is smaller than previously extracted from experiment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Systematic Investigation of Isoindigo-Based Polymeric Field-Effect Transistors: Design Strategy and Impact of Polymer Symmetry and Backbone Curvature
TL;DR: In this article, 10 isoindigo-based polymers were synthesized and their photophysical and electrochemical properties and device performances were systematically investigated, and the hole mobilities of these polymers with centrosymmetric donor units exceeded 0.3 cm2 V −1 s −1 and the maximum reached 1.06 cm 2 V − 1 s − 1.
Journal ArticleDOI
Imaging Electronic Correlations in Twisted Bilayer Graphene near the Magic Angle
Youngjoon Choi,Jeannette Kemmer,Yang Peng,Alex Thomson,Harpreet Singh Arora,Robert Polski,Yiran Zhang,Hechen Ren,Jason Alicea,Gil Refael,Felix von Oppen,Kenji Watanabe,Takashi Taniguchi,Stevan Nadj-Perge +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used scanning tunneling microscopy to probe local properties of highly tunable twisted bilayer graphene devices and show that the flat bands strongly deform when aligned with the Fermi level.
