Rock mass damage induced by rockbursts occurring on tunnel floors: a case study of two tunnels at the Jinping II Hydropower Station

TL;DR: In this paper, results of comprehensive analysis conducted using the combination of numerical methods, experiments, and onsite survey to analyze the occurrence and development process of the rockburst were presented, and the degree and extension range of the surrounding rock mass damage were estimated using the failure approaching index and the local energy release rate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental investigations on loading-rate dependency of compressive and tensile mechanical behaviour of hard rocks

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of loading rate on mechanical behaviour of brittle rocks are of great importance for stability assessment of underground structures, and Brazilian splitting tension tests were performed under different loading rates ranging from 0.001 to 10kN/s.

Combined-type tunnel boring machine (TBM) for achieving geological exploration, and geological exploration tunneling method

TL;DR: In this paper, a combined-type tunnel boring machine (TBM) for achieving geological exploration, and a geological exploration tunneling method, relates to the field of tunnel and underground engineering construction, where various advance geological exploration is conducted during excavation, the engineering geological andhydrology geological structures in front of and around the tunnel face are accurately forecasted, thus geological disasters of TBM construction engineering are effectively avoided, the construction safety is guaranteed, the progress is accelerated and the cost is saved.

Wireless remote-control comprehensive hole measuring robot used for rock mass engineering

TL;DR: In this article, a wireless remote-control comprehensive hole measuring robot for rock mass engineering is presented, which is mainly used for multivariate information measurement like deformation of rock masses engineering and fracture of surrounding rocks.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental investigations on the short- and long-term behaviour of Jinping marble in deep tunnels

TL;DR: In this article, the triaxial compression tests with confining stress up to 100 MPa were performed in order to complete the short-term and time-dependent mechanical behavior of Jinping marble.
