Optical Tunable Switched Directional Couplers Consisting of Two Thin-Film Waveguides Using Surface Acoustic Waves
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of a surface acoustic wave (a SAW) on the mode coupling between the fundamental even and odd eigenmodes of a directional coupler system is analyzed and two control methods of optical power transferred are proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Label Recognition with Wavelength-Selective Collinear Acoustooptic Switches for Photonic Label Routers
Nobuo Goto,Yasumitsu Miyazaki +1 more
TL;DR: Application of the collinear AO switches to a label recognition processor in a photonic routing system is investigated and a numerical example for the code recognition is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Matrix-based FDTD parallel algorithm for big areas and its applications to high-speed wireless communications
TL;DR: A formulation of the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) equations as a system of linear equations in matricial form is used to develop a novel parallel algorithm that solves the variables of a 2-D FDTD simulation using less memory than required by the common FDTD algorithm, at the cost of some increase in the number of operations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Wavelength-division-multiplex photonic routers with collinear acoustooptic processing for optical label matching in spectral and time domains
Nobuo Goto,Yasumitsu Miyazaki +1 more
TL;DR: The application of collinear AO switches to a label recognition processor in a photonic routing system is investigated and a combination of encoding in spectral and time domains, flexibility in routing control, and the number of represented labels can be increased.
Journal ArticleDOI
Recognition of Wavelength-Division-Multiplexed Time-Series Optical Coded Labels Using Collinear Acoustooptic Devices without Time Gating for Photonic Routing
Nobuo Goto,Yasumitsu Miyazaki +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a label recognition system for optical codes encoded in time and spectral domains where the time-gating function is not required is proposed, which will be useful in increasing the number of distinguishable codes and improving the flexibility of routing control in the networks.
