Preparation of high-strength and translucent alumina by hot isostatic pressing

TL;DR: In this paper, a vacuum-pressure slipcasting technique and hot isostatic pressing (HIPing) were used to prepare high-strength and translucent alumina ceramics, which showed high bend strength and translucency with in-line transmittance of 30% to 46% (1 mm thick).
Journal ArticleDOI

Growth Conditions and Genesis of Spherical and Platy Kaolinite

TL;DR: The results indicated that the growth of the spherical kaolinite was favored at high degrees of supersaturation, whereas the growth was relatively low at relatively low degrees of superaturation as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reaction of Hydrogrossular with Hydrogen Chloride Gas at High Temperature

TL;DR: The reaction between hydrogrossular and hydrogen chloride (HCl) gas was performed in a fixed bed reactor above 400 °C as discussed by the authors, and the product phase Ca12Al9.9Si4.05O32Cl5.9 (calcium aluminum chlorosilicate) was cubic, space group I 3d, with unit cell a = 12.0173(1) A.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spherical kaolinite; synthesis and mineralogical properties

TL;DR: Spherical kaolinite has been synthesized for the first time from non-crystalline aluminosilicate material in hydrothermal experiments conducted between 150° and 250°C and under autogenous vapor pressure as mentioned in this paper.
