An adaptive control system uses a neural network to provide adaptive control when the plant is operating within a normal operating range, but shifts to other types of control as the plant operating conditions move outside of the normal operating range. The controller uses a structure which allows the neural network parameters to be determined from minimal information about plant structure and the neural network is trained on-line during normal plant operation. The resulting system can be proven to be stable over all possible conditions. Further, with the inventive techniques, the tracking accuracy can be controlled by appropriate network design.

Stable adaptive neural network controller

A forward-facing vision system for a vehicle includes a forward-facing camera disposed in a windshield electronics module attached at a windshield of the vehicle and viewing through the windshield. A control includes a processor that, responsive to processing of captured image data, detects taillights of leading vehicles during nighttime conditions and, responsive to processing of captured image data, detects lane markers on a road being traveled by the vehicle. The control, responsive to lane marker detection and a determination that the vehicle is drifting out of a traffic lane, may control a steering system of the vehicle to mitigate such drifting, with the steering system manually controllable by a driver of the vehicle irrespective of control by the control. The processor, based at least in part on detection of lane markers via processing of captured image data, determines curvature of the road being traveled by the vehicle.

Vision system for vehicle

A vehicular vision system includes a camera having a lens and a CMOS photosensor array having a plurality of photosensor elements. The camera is disposed at an interior portion of a vehicle equipped with the vehicular vision system. The camera one of (i) views exterior of the equipped vehicle through the windshield of the equipped vehicle and forward of the equipped vehicle and (ii) views from the windshield of the equipped vehicle into the interior cabin of the equipped vehicle. A control includes an image processor that processes image data captured by the photosensor array. The image processor processes captured image data to detect an object viewed by the camera. The photosensor array is operable at a plurality of exposure periods and at least one exposure period of the plurality of exposure periods is dynamically variable.

A driver assistance system for a vehicle includes an imaging device having a field of view forward of a vehicle and in a direction of travel of the equipped vehicle, an image processor operable to process image data captured by the imaging device, and a global positioning system operable to determine a geographical location of the vehicle. The equipped vehicle includes an adaptive speed control system for controlling the speed of the equipped vehicle. The adaptive speed control system may reduce the speed of the equipped vehicle responsive at least in part to a detection of a curve in the road ahead of the equipped vehicle via processing by the image processor of image data captured by the imaging device.

Driver assistance system for vehicle

An air conditioning controller is provided with a room temperature-humidity combination calculation unit, a temperature-humidity setting value determination unit and a temperature-humidity control unit. The room temperature-humidity combination calculation unit is configured to calculate combinations of room temperature and room humidity corresponding to a target value of a thermal comfort index PMV. The temperature-humidity setting value determination unit is configured to select and determine a combination of the room temperature and humidity that achieves energy saving among the calculated combinations of the room temperature and humidity. The temperature-humidity control unit is configured to separately control the room temperature and humidity so that the room temperature and humidity would measure up respectively to the determined temperature and humidity values.

Air conditioning controller

A process control apparatus is provided which has a PID controller to which is supplied a sampled signal of a control deviation signal of a process value signal and a reference signal and which generates a PID control signal according to sampled-value PID control constants. A non-linear controller is connected in parallel with the PID controller. A sum signal of the output signals from the PID controller and the non-linear controller is supplied to a process through a holding circuit. The process control apparatus further includes a circuit for identifying the dynamic characteristic of the process according to the sum signal and the sampled signal of the process value, and a circuit for calculating a transfer function of the process in the Laplace operator domain and for determining the sampled-value PID constants of the PID controller according to the dynamic characteristic.

A Practical Reference Model for Control System Design

Some embodiment includes an air conditioner, an air blower, a sensor, and a controller. The air conditioner works for supply to cold spaces. The air blower produces streams of air in and between a server room and an air conditioning system. The sensor takes a measure of current or power as consumption at servers. The controller operates on the measure at the sensor, to control the air blower.

A system for a server room management includes an air-conditioning control device including: an acquisition unit; a setting unit that sets content for generating supply air at temperature, absolute humidity, and relative humidity within target range, based on outside air temperature and humidity as well as return air temperature; and a controller controlling amount of outside air, amount of return air, control amount of humidifier, control amount of cooler, and amount of air blown by blower, based on the content. If the outside air is within range greater than absolute humidity upper limit, or within range greater than enthalpy upper limit and greater than the temperature upper limit, the setting unit compares outside air and return air, and then determines, in accordance with the comparison, whether to set the content so that the cooler performs cooling by minimizing or maximizing the amount of the outside air.
