Thermal, mechanical and rheological properties of polylactide toughened by expoxidized natural rubber

TL;DR: In this paper, the use of epoxidized natural rubber (ENR) as toughening agent for polylactide (PLA) was discussed, and it was shown that ENR reduced the tensile modulus and strength but enhanced the elongation and the impact strength of PLA.
Journal ArticleDOI

Beyond C3N4 π-conjugated metal-free polymeric semiconductors for photocatalytic chemical transformations

TL;DR: The state-of-the-art development of various effective metal-free polymeric photocatalysts with large π-conjugated units for chemical transformations including water splitting, CO2 and N2 reduction, organic synthesis and monomer polymerisation is covered.
Journal ArticleDOI

Poly (lactic acid)/titanium dioxide composites: Preparation and performance under ultraviolet irradiation

TL;DR: In this article, the ultraviolet photoresponse effects of the two oxide structures were investigated mainly by measuring the UV absorbance or mechanical properties, and the results showed that for the thin and the thick films, the mechanical property results only exhibit a UV shielding effect of both R-TiO2 and A-O2 particles and improve the anti-UV performance of PLA when the particles are encapsulated in PLA matrix.
Journal ArticleDOI

Toughening of polylactide with natural rubber grafted with poly(butyl acrylate)

TL;DR: In this article, natural rubber grafted with poly(butyl acrylate) (NR-g-PBA) in an attempt to toughen polylactide (PLA) was prepared by grafting butyl acylate onto natural rubber (NR) through emulsion polymerization.
Journal ArticleDOI

Study on the Effect of Dicumyl Peroxide on Structure and Properties of Poly(Lactic Acid)/Natural Rubber Blend

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of dicumyl peroxide on morphology, thermal properties, mechanical properties and rheological properties of PLA and PLA/NR blends were studied, and the results indicated that adding adequate amount of DCP could improve the processing properties of blends.
