Improving Cloud Gaming Experience through Mobile Edge Computing

TL;DR: A novel framework named EdgeGame is proposed to improve the cloud gaming experience by leveraging resources in the edge and offloads the computation-intensive rendering to the network edge instead, which can reduce network delay and bandwidth consumption greatly.
Journal ArticleDOI

Predicting the Perceptual Quality of Point Cloud: A 3D-to-2D Projection-Based Exploration

TL;DR: The proposed metric has demonstrated the state-of-the-art performance for predicting the subjective point cloud quality compared with multiple full-reference and no-reference models, e.g., the weighted peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), structural similarity (SSIM), feature similarity (FSIM) and natural image quality evaluator (NIQE).

Inferring Point Cloud Quality via Graph Similarity

TL;DR: GraphSIM as mentioned in this paper is an objective metric to accurately predict the subjective quality of point cloud with superimposed geometry and color impairments, based on the fact that human vision system is more sensitive to the high spatial-frequency components (e.g., contours, edges), and weighs more to the local structural variations rather individual point intensity.

Apparatus and method for transmitting and receiving broadcasting in a digital multimedia broadcasting system

TL;DR: In this article, an apparatus and method for transmitting and receiving broadcasting data in a DMB system are provided to reduce power consumption and implement smooth and seamless service handover, and a frame group is configured so as to include information about services included in the frame group and information indicating the relative start times of the services.
Journal ArticleDOI

QoE-Based Resource Allocation for Heterogeneous Multi-Radio Communication in Software-Defined Vehicle Networks

TL;DR: A software-defined networking-based application-layer scheme to exploit the available bandwidth from the LTE and Wi-Fi networks in vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication and a heuristic solution that jointly determines the resource allocation as well as V2I and V2V connections are derived.
