Journal ArticleDOI
Common iliac artery aneurysm: Expansion rate and results of open surgical and endovascular repair
Ying Huang,Peter Gloviczki,Audra A. Duncan,Manju Kalra,Tanya L. Hoskin,Gustavo S. Oderich,Michael A. McKusick,Thomas C. Bower +7 more
TL;DR: Results at 3 years support EVAR as a first-line treatment for most anatomically suitable patients who require CIAA repair and patients with compressive symptoms or those with AVF should preferentially be treated with OR.
Journal ArticleDOI
Early complications and long-term outcome after open surgical treatment of popliteal artery aneurysms: Is exclusion with saphenous vein bypass still the gold standard?
Ying Huang,Peter Gloviczki,Audra A. Noel,Timothy M. Sullivan,Manju Kalra,Rachel E. Gullerud,Tanya L. Hoskin,Thomas C. Bower +7 more
TL;DR: Acute presentation of PAA continues to carry high mortality and cardiac morbidity; although preoperative thrombolysis appears to improve results, the 8% early and 15% late amputation rates remain ominous.
Journal ArticleDOI
Population-Based Assessment of the Incidence of Aortic Dissection, Intramural Hematoma, and Penetrating Ulcer, and Its Associated Mortality From 1995 to 2015
Randall R. DeMartino,Indrani Sen,Ying Huang,Thomas C. Bower,Gustavo S. Oderich,Alberto Pochettino,Kevin L. Greason,Manju Kalra,Jill K. Johnstone,Fahad Shuja,W. Scott Harmsen,Thanila A. Macedo,Jay Mandrekar,Alanna M. Chamberlain,Salome Weiss,Philip P. Goodney,Véronique L. Roger +16 more
TL;DR: The incidence of aortic dissection and intramural hematoma has remained stable since 1995, despite the decline noted for other cardiovascular disease, and the need for long-term care to impact the prognosis of this patient group is highlighted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical presentation, comorbidities, and age but not female gender predict survival after endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm
Peter Gloviczki,Ying Huang,Gustavo S. Oderich,Audra A. Duncan,Manju Kalra,Mark D. Fleming,William S. Harmsen,Thomas C. Bower +7 more
TL;DR: Clinical presentation predicts early mortality and complications, age predicts both early and late mortalities after EVAR, and association between surgical risk, female gender, age, and outcome was studied in 870 asymptomatic patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Outcomes of endovascular and contemporary open surgical repairs of popliteal artery aneurysm
Ying Huang,Peter Gloviczki,Gustavo S. Oderich,Audra A. Duncan,Manju Kalra,Mark D. Fleming,William S. Harmsen,Thomas C. Bower +7 more
TL;DR: The study failed to prove the superiority of ER over OR, but if anatomy is suitable, ER of PAA in the elderly and high-risk patients is justified, and a multicenter randomized controlled trial of P AA patients with acute presentation is warranted.
