Journal ArticleDOI

The reproductive number of COVID-19 is higher compared to SARS coronavirus.

TL;DR: The authors' review found the average R0 for 2019-nCoV to be 3.28, which exceeds WHO estimates of 1.4 to 2.5, and is higher than expected.
Journal ArticleDOI

The reproductive number of the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2 is far higher compared to the ancestral SARS-CoV-2 virus.

TL;DR: The Delta variant is now replacing all other SARS-CoV-2 variants as mentioned in this paper, which is much higher than the R0 of the ancestral strain of 2.79, and the mean R 0 of 5.08.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reviewing estimates of the basic reproduction number for dengue, Zika and chikungunya across global climate zones.

TL;DR: Climate zone is indicated to be an important determinant of the basic reproduction number, R0, for dengue, Zika virus, and chikungunya, and the results suggest that R0 may increase in temperate regions in response to global warming, and highlight the increasing need for strengthening preparedness and control activities.
Journal ArticleDOI
