Cold gas dynamic spray technology: A comprehensive review of processing conditions for various technological developments till to date
Rija Nirina Raoelison,Yingchun Xie,Thaneshan Sapanathan,Marie-Pierre Planche,Robin Kromer,Sophie Costil,Cécile Langlade +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a review of experimental deposition procedures for the cold spray additive manufacturing is presented, which is classified into various baseline working conditions, specific processing including deposition of nanotechnological components, composites-based structures and hybrid coating with substrate deposition.
Journal ArticleDOI
Advanced diamond-reinforced metal matrix composites via cold spray: properties and deposition mechanism
Shuo Yin,Yingchun Xie,Jan Cizek,Emmanuel J. Ekoi,Tanvir Hussain,Denis P. Dowling,Rocco Lupoi +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a diamond-reinforced metal matrix composites (DMMC) was applied to aluminum alloy substrate via cold spray of three feedstock powders: copper-clad diamond and pure copper, and their mixtures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of hot isostatic pressing (HIP) on microstructure and mechanical properties of Ti6Al4V alloy fabricated by cold spray additive manufacturing
Chaoyue Chen,Yingchun Xie,Xingchen Yan,Shuo Yin,Hirotaka Fukanuma,Renzhong Huang,Ruixin Zhao,Jiang Wang,Zhongming Ren,Min Liu,Hanlin Liao +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a hot isostatic pressing (HIP) treatment is adopted to reduce the interior defects, adjust the microstructure, and improve the mechanical properties of CS Ti6Al4V alloys.
Journal ArticleDOI
New insights into the coating/substrate interfacial bonding mechanism in cold spray
TL;DR: In this article, a new theory was proposed to explain the interfacial bonding mechanism of hard Ni coating onto soft Al substrate, and the experimental results indicate that the metal-to-metal contact and the consequent metallurgical bonding at the coating/substrate interface were absent in the single particle depositing but could be achieved in the full coating deposition.
Journal ArticleDOI
Microstructural and mechanical properties of high-performance Inconel 718 alloy by cold spraying
Wenhua Ma,Yingchun Xie,Chaoyue Chen,Hirotaka Fukanuma,Jiang Wang,Zhongming Ren,Renzhong Huang +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the microstructure evolution, hardness, adhesive strength and tensile strength were investigated systematically on the cold-sprayed and heat-treated Inconel 718 alloy.
