Journal ArticleDOI

A multipurpose dual-axis solar tracker with two tracking strategies

TL;DR: In this paper, a dual-axis solar tracker was developed for flat photovoltaic (PV) and concentrating solar power (CSP) systems, which employs a declination-clock mounting system that locates the primary axis in east-west direction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heliostat field layout methodology in central receiver systems based on efficiency-related distribution

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a heliostat field layout based on the annually equivalent efficiency distribution (AEED), in pursuit of the maximization of the field's efficiency, and the rearrangement result suggests that the rearranged field has substantially reduced the land area of AEED-based field and shown a good performance in the levelized energy cost.
Journal ArticleDOI

A novel sun-tracking and target-aiming method to improve the concentration efficiency of solar central receiver systems

TL;DR: A new sun-tracking and target-aiming method is proposed for SCR systems in order to eliminate the cosine loss and enhance the concentration efficiency and the simulation results showed that the proposed method can improve the concentration Efficiency of SCR system obviously in some cases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Design and performance analysis of a multi-reflection heliostat field in solar power tower system

TL;DR: In this article, a multi-reflection heliostat was proposed to improve solar power tower plant performance by keeping its aperture always facing the sun, and the key structural parameters were specially designed for a superior solar image property.
