Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain printed matter, etc., excellent in the color reproducibility of a stored color part by automatically recognizing and distinguishing the stored color part from an RGB electronic video and executing a color conversion with a color conversion formula suited for each part. CONSTITUTION:A processing for extracting a face pattern is executed at a CPU 14, and a picture in postprocessing is stored at a RAM 15. And, the address of a binarization picture signal extracting the face pattern stored in the RAM 15 is inverted at the time of read-out of the picture signal consisting of the RGB picture executed with a picture quality improvement processing. And when the color corresponds to a skin color, a skin-color color conversion matrix is selected and in other cases the color conversion matrix for all colors is selected, and the color conversion from the RGB to YMC is executed. The signal after the color conversion is stored in another area of the RAM 15. Thus, the printing, copy excellent in the color reproducibility of the stored color part can be obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To automatically recognize a skin-colored face pattern part in an analog electronic video by executing the extraction of an area which corresponds to a skin-color in a TV picture, averaging of the extracted picture, and the labelling according to attributes, and extracting a face pattern from the labelling processed data. CONSTITUTION:The processing for extracting the face pattern part from the TV picture consisting of RGB signal is executed at a CPU 14, and the picture after being processed is stored at a RAM 15. Here, for the TV picture to be processed, RGB is measured for each picture element, chromaticity is calculated, that value is applied to a prescribed discrimination formula, the skin-colored area is distinguished from mother hue areas, and the binarization processing of the picture is executed. Next, picture processing of enlarging/reduction, removal of isolated points, labelling, etc., are executed to the binarized picture with the skin-colored area extracted, and the pre-processing of the picture is executed. Thus, the skin-colored area and the face area on a monitor can be automatically extracted from the TV picture.
