Journal ArticleDOI
Modified CTAB Procedure for DNA Isolation from Epiphytic Cacti of the Genera Hylocereus and Selenicereus (Cactaceae)
TL;DR: DNA samples prepared by the method were consistently amplifiable in the RAPD reaction and gave reproducible profiles.
Journal ArticleDOI
Responses of climacteric and suppressed-climacteric plums to treatment with propylene and 1-methylcyclopropene
TL;DR: In this paper, the ripening behavior of preclimacteric plums was investigated using 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) followed by continuous treatment with propylene.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fruit flesh betacyanin pigments in hylocereus cacti.
Sławomir Wybraniec,Yosef Mizrahi +1 more
TL;DR: Fruits of H. polyrhizus exhibited the highest relative concentration (expressed as percentage of the total HPLC peak area) of hylocerenin, a recently discovered pigment, and a high relative concentration of phyllocactin, which might explain the differences in red hues of the flesh of these fruits.
Journal ArticleDOI
Betacyanins from vine cactus Hylocereus polyrhizus.
Sławomir Wybraniec,Itzhak Platzner,Shimona Geresh,Hugo E. Gottlieb,Marcela Haimberg,Michael Mogilnitzki,Yosef Mizrahi +6 more
TL;DR: A new betacyanin was structurally elucidated as betanidin 5-O-[6'-O-(3"-hydroxy-3"-methyl-glutaryl)-beta-D-glucopyranoside] (proposed trivial name hylocerenin) by means of electrospray MS/MS, HPLC, and NMR techniques.
