Synthetic proof for the structures of maturinone and cacalol

TL;DR: By unambiguous syntheses, the structures of maturinone and cacalol were shown to be 3,5-dimethylnaphtho[2,3-b]furan-4,9-dione (1) and 5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-3,4,5,trimethylamine naphthoe[2.3]-furan-9-ol (2), respectively as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Preparation of 2-Oxabicyclo(2.2.2)oct-5-ene, 1,4-Dimethyl-2-oxabicyclo(2.2.2)oct-5-ene, and 6-Oxabicyclo(3.2.1)oct-3-ene.

TL;DR: Three bicyclic olefins having an allylic oxygen atom (see title) were prepared and only 2-oxabicyclo[2.2]oct-5-ene could not be isolated in its pure state due to the volatility of the compound as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
