High-efficiency finishing process for metal mold by large-area electron beam irradiation

TL;DR: In this article, a new finishing process for metal molds by large-area electron beam (EB) irradiation is proposed in which an EB with high energy density is irradiated without focusing the beam, and so the EB with a maximum diameter of 60mm can be used for melting or evaporating metal surface instantly.

Laser processing method

TL;DR: In this paper, a laser processing method for cutting a cut surface can be obtained by irradiating the material to be processed with a laser beam, such that at least a part of the focusing line is located on a surface of the material being processed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Surface finishing of stainless steels for orthopedic surgical tools by large-area electron beam irradiation

TL;DR: In this paper, a new finishing method by large-area electron beam irradiation is proposed, which can be used for instantly melting or evaporating the metal surface, and the experimental results show that highly efficient surface smoothing of stainless steels by large area EB irradiation may be achieved.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new polishing method of metal mold with large-area electron beam irradiation

TL;DR: In this article, a new polishing method by large-area electron beam (EB) irradiation is proposed in which an EB with high energy density is irradiated without focusing the beam.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluations of spark distribution and wire vibration in wire EDM by high-speed observation

TL;DR: In this article, a high-speed video camera is used to evaluate the distribution of spark locations in fine wire EDM using thin wire electrode, which is necessary to achieve stable machining performance.
