The effects of sulfate reducing bacteria on corrosion of carbon steel Q235 under simulated disbonded coating by using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of sulfate reducing bacteria (SRB) on the corrosion of the carbon steel Q235 has been investigated in the crevice under the simulated disbonded coating in the soil extract solutions (SES).
Journal ArticleDOI

Microbiological corrosion of pipeline steel under yield stress in soil environment

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the microbial corrosion induced by sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) in X80 steel under yield stress in a soil environment and found that the activities of SRB stimulate the generation of secondary pitting on the bottom of wide shallow pits and near micro-crack tips on the specimen with yield stress.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synergistic effect of sulfate-reducing bacteria and elastic stress on corrosion of X80 steel in soil solution

TL;DR: In this paper, the individual and simultaneous effects of stress and sulfate-reducing bacteria on corrosion of X80 steel were conducted by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope and X-ray photoelectron spectrography.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stress Corrosion Cracking of X80 Steel in the Presence of Sulfate-reducing Bacteria

TL;DR: In this article, the role of sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) in SCC susceptibility has been investigated in a near-neutral pH soil solution by slow strain rate tests and the relationship between plasticity loss and the permeable hydrogen concentration were established for the steel in the soil solution, regardless of under open circuit potential or cathodic potentials, in both the sterile and SRB inoculated conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hydrogen permeation of X80 steel with superficial stress in the presence of sulfate-reducing bacteria

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the hydrogen permeation of X80 pipeline under superficial stress and cathodic protection in the presence of sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) and showed that SRB and superficial stresses have synergistic effects on promoting hydrogen flux of the steel in the soil solution.
