Nonlocal plate model for nonlinear bending of bilayer graphene sheets subjected to transverse loads in thermal environments

TL;DR: In this paper, the nonlinear bending behavior of a bilayer rectangular graphene sheet subjected to a transverse uniform load in thermal environments is investigated, and the results reveal that the small scale parameter reduces the static large deflections of BLGSs, and that small scale effect also plays an important role in the non-linear bending of bilayer graphene sheets.
Journal ArticleDOI

Prediction of nonlinear vibration of bilayer graphene sheets in thermal environments via molecular dynamics simulations and nonlocal elasticity

TL;DR: In this paper, the nonlinear transverse vibration response of bilayer graphene sheets in thermal environments was investigated by using molecular dynamics simulation and nonlocal elasticity, and the results showed that the stacking sequence has a small effect, while the aspect ratio has a moderate effect.
Journal ArticleDOI

Graphene: Why buckling occurs?

TL;DR: In this paper, the buckling phenomenon of a monolayer graphene with four free edges subjected to uniaxial tension by molecular dynamics simulations was investigated and it was shown that the buckled phenomenon occurs when tension force is applied and is sufficiently large for both armchair and zigzag single layer graphene sheets.
