Energy Efficient Adaptive Transmissions in Integrated Satellite-Terrestrial Networks With SER Constraints

TL;DR: Simulation results show that the proposed adaptive transmission scheme can increase the attainable EE of satellite communications, which indicates that the satellite should choose the transmission mode adaptively according to different interfering scenarios and shadowing degrees, rather than adopting cooperative transmission aggressively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Energy Efficient Power Allocation for Delay Constrained Cognitive Satellite Terrestrial Networks Under Interference Constraints

TL;DR: The simulation results demonstrate the validity of the theoretical results and show the impacts of the delay exponent, interference constraint, and aggregate interference from terrestrial networks on the performance of satellite networks.
Journal ArticleDOI

Energy-Spectral Efficiency Trade-Off in Underlaying Mobile D2D Communications: An Economic Efficiency Perspective

TL;DR: This work proposes two scenario-related power allocation schemes and investigates the energy efficiency (EE) and spectral efficiency (SE) trade-off, and demonstrates the viability that ECE can serve as a general metric for EE–SE trade–off in vehicular environments under different communication conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Power Allocation in Cognitive Satellite-Vehicular Networks From Energy-Spectral Efficiency Tradeoff Perspective

TL;DR: This work investigates power allocation for the cognitive satellite-vehicular network under a realistic 3-D vehicle-to-vehicle channel model and develops an EE–SE tradeoff metric with a preference factor, through which the impacts of the preference parameter and interference constraints on the performance of vehicular communications can be theoretically analyzed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Outage Performance of Integrated Satellite-Terrestrial Networks With Hybrid CCI

TL;DR: Taking the interference power constraints imposed by satellite communications into account, a closed-form expression is derived for the outage probability of the terrestrial network, where the satellite link and terrestrial links are modeled as shadowed-Rician and Nakagami-m fading, respectively.
