Journal ArticleDOI
Addition of canagliflozin to insulin improves glycaemic control and reduces insulin dose in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus: A randomized controlled trial
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the efficacy of canagliflozin in reducing the required insulin dose and the risk of hypoglycaemia in type 2 diabetes (T2D).
Journal ArticleDOI
Changes in endothelial function during educational hospitalization and the contributor to improvement of endothelial function in type 2 diabetes mellitus.
TL;DR: It is shown that educational hospitalization of patients with T2DM improved vascular endothelial function, and that the development of hypoglycemic episodes had a significant negative impact on normalization of vascular endothelium function.
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficacy and Safety of Tofogliflozin on 24-h Glucose Profile Based on Continuous Glucose Monitoring: Crossover Study of Sodium-Glucose Cotransporter 2 Inhibitor.
Akira Kurozumi,Yosuke Okada,Mototsugu Shimokawa,Yukiko Goshima,Takashi Otsuka,Manabu Narisawa,Keiichi Torimoto,Yoshiya Tanaka +7 more
TL;DR: The addition of tofogliflozin to sulfonylureas tended to decrease the percent time spent in hypoglycemia in T2DM patients, and the average glucose level and reduced glucose fluctuations without increasing the time in hyp glucosecemia.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Case of Methimazole-Induced Acute Pancreatitis With an HLA Allele Causing Antithyroid Drug-Induced Agranulocytosis
Yusuke Yoshimura,Keita Tatsushima,Yukiko Goshima,Yoshitomo Hoshino,Saki Nakashima,Tatsurou Inaba,Sara Ikeda,Daisuke Hattori,Rikako Koyama,Tsunao Imamura,Akira Takeshita,Yasuhiro Takeuchi +11 more
TL;DR: A case of a 72-year-old Japanese woman with Graves’ disease who developed MIP 12 days after the initiation of MMI is presented, and PTU is being considered as an alternative to MMI; however, its safety needs further investigation and patients require close monitoring after the switch to PTU.
