Journal ArticleDOI

Hydrolysis of (Z)-2-alkoxy-3-arylpropenals as a short-cut to benzylglyoxals

TL;DR: In this paper, the C=C bond in 2-alkoxy-3-aryl(hetaryl)-propenals, depending upon substituents in the molecule, can proceed according to Markovnikov or Michael rule or with heterolytic opening of the cycle.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reaction of 2-alkoxy- and 2-hydroxypropenals with o -phenylenediamine: a route to benzimidazoles and quinoxalines

TL;DR: The reaction of o-phenylenediamine with 2-alkoxypropenals at room temperature affords 2-(1)-alkoxyvinyl)benzimidazoles (53-68%), while 2-hydroxy-3-aryl propenals give 2-(arylmethyl) quinoxalines (85-86%).
Journal ArticleDOI

2-(1′-alkoxyvinyl) thiazolidines: synthesis and study of ring-chain tautomerism

TL;DR: The ring-chain tautomeric equilibria, studied by 1H NMR spectroscopy, were strongly dependent on the solvent polarity, ratio of reagents, and pH of the medium.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Michael addition of organylthiols to 2-alkoxypropenals

TL;DR: In this article, the reaction of 2-alkoxypropenals with organylthiols in the presence of small amounts of a base afforded 3-organylsulfanyl-2-alkoxidepropanals is described.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and properties of alkylthioethanals

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for synthesizing bis-1,1-alkoxy-2-alkylthioethanes using two-phase system water organic solvent was developed.
