Journal ArticleDOI
Composition Engineering in Cerium-Doped (Lu,Gd)3(Ga,Al)5O12 Single-Crystal Scintillators
Kei Kamada,Takanori Endo,Kousuke Tsutumi,Takayuki Yanagida,Yutaka Fujimoto,Akihiro Fukabori,Akira Yoshikawa,J. Pejchal,Martin Nikl +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used a combinatorial approach where targeted single-crystal compositions are obtained by a flexible, time saving, and cost-effective crystal growth technique.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparative study of ceramic and single crystal Ce:GAGG scintillator
TL;DR: In this article, the performance of single crystal Ce:Gd 3 (Al,Ga) 5 O 12 (Ce:GAGG) showed good scintillation response under γ-ray exposure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development of X-ray-induced afterglow characterization system
TL;DR: In this paper, an ionizing-radiation-induced luminescence characterization system equipped with a pulse-width-tunable X-ray source was developed, where the excitation pulse width was tunable from nano-to millisecond ranges.
Journal ArticleDOI
2 inch diameter single crystal growth and scintillation properties of Ce:Gd3Al2Ga3O12
Kei Kamada,Takayuki Yanagida,Takanori Endo,Kousuke Tsutumi,Yoshiyuki Usuki,Martin Nikl,Yutaka Fujimoto,Akihiro Fukabori,Akira Yoshikawa +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, single crystals of Gd3Al2Ga3O12 (Ce:GAGG) were grown by the Czochralski (Cz) method using [100] oriented seed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Scintillator-oriented combinatorial search in Ce-doped (Y,Gd) 3 (Ga,Al) 5 O 12 multicomponent garnet compounds
Kei Kamada,Takayuki Yanagida,Jan Pejchal,Martin Nikl,T. Endo,Kousuke Tsutumi,Yutaka Fujimoto,Akihiro Fukabori,Akira Yoshikawa +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, X-ray diffraction and electron probe microanalysis techniques are employed to check the structure and chemical composition of single crystals, and the authors show that balanced Gd and Ga admixture in the Y3Al5O12 structure can considerably increase scintillation efficiency.
