Journal ArticleDOI

Geometric Approach to Factor Analysis for the Estimation of Orthogonality and Practical Peak Capacity in Comprehensive Two-Dimensional Separations

TL;DR: In this article, the peak spreading angle, retention correlation, and peak capacity of a 2D GC separation were derived for the comparison, evaluation, and optimization of 2D separations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Field-amplified sample stacking in micellar electrokinetic chromatography for on-column sample concentration of neutral molecules

TL;DR: On-column concentration of neutral molecules was achieved for the first time in micellar electrokinetic chromatography by means of field-amplified sample stacking by using normal or reversed electrode polarity and produced a 75-85-fold increase in sensitivity for 1,2,4,7- and 1,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxins.
Patent

Chromatographic technique and apparatus

TL;DR: In this article, a compact, sensitive, comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatographic system (10) includes a chromatrographic column (14) having first section (14A) and second section(14B) in series with each other to permit the flow of sample (12) and a carrier (13) through the sections.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography for the fast separation and determination of pesticides extracted from human serum

TL;DR: A comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatograph with flame ionization detection was constructed and evaluated for the fast separation and analysis of pesticides and achieved complete separation of 15 pesticides in less than 4 min when used to analyze pesticides extracted from human samples.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comprehensive two-dimensional separations using microcolumns

TL;DR: In this article, the history, requirements, instrumentation, and applications of comprehensive two-dimensional column separations are reviewed and a comprehensive approach to high resolution separations easily surpasses any other approaches to achieving extremely high peak capacity.
