Ossifying fibromyxoid tumor of soft parts: A report of 17 cases with emphasis on unusual histological features

TL;DR: The clinicopathologic features of 17 examples of ossifying fibromyxoid tumor of soft parts are presented with particular emphasis on some unusual histopathic features that may place pitfalls in the diagnosis of this tumor, including satellite micronodules, mucinous microcysts, and absence of myxoid areas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fibro-osseous pseudotumor of digits and myositis ossificans show consistent COL1A1-USP6 rearrangement: a clinicopathological and genetic study of 27 cases.

TL;DR: The presence of COL1A1-USP6 gene rearrangement in MO/FOPD links these lesions to other USP6-driven tumors and represents a very useful supportive marker, which may help to avoid overdiagnosis of MO/ FOPD as a sarcoma.
Journal ArticleDOI

Desmoplastic cellular blue nevi.

TL;DR: The cells within the desmoplastic regions reacted strongly immunohistochemically with antibodies to S-100 protein and HMB-45 and were negative to antibodies to smooth muscle actin and desmin, providing evidence that the abundant collagen deposits were the product of the nevus cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

High-grade myxoinflammatory fibroblastic sarcoma: a report of 23 cases.

TL;DR: Most cases of pleomorphic hyalinizing angiectatic tumor (PHAT) of soft tissues represent examples of MIFS merely having hyaline ectatic vessels, according to the identification of morphological changes typical for MifS within most of the cases of PHAT.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans of the breast: A case report.

TL;DR: A case report of a 43-year-old woman with a growing tumor in the left breast is discussed, and Histological and cytogenetic examinations of the tumor resulted in a diagnosis of Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, a rare malignant tumor of subcutaneous tissue characterized by slow infiltrative growth.
