Seasonal indoor radon concentration in FYR of Macedonia

TL;DR: In this article, the results of the seasonal indoor radon concentration measurements in dwellings in all regions of the Former Yugoslav Republic (FYR) of Macedonia were presented, where the measurements were made in 437 dwellings using CR-39 track detectors over four successive threemonth periods (winter, spring, summer and autumn) throughout 2009.
Journal ArticleDOI

Natural radioactivity and human exposure by raw materials and end product from cement industry used as building materials

TL;DR: In this paper, the radiological impact of cements as a building material and the different raw materials used in their manufacture was evaluated by gamma spectrometry analysis, evaluated by a total of 218 samples of raw materials and their end product cements were collected from the cement industry of Macedonia (The Former Yugoslav Republic) during the period 2005-2007.
Journal ArticleDOI

Geographical distribution of the annual mean radon concentrations in primary schools of Southern Serbia - application of geostatistical methods.

TL;DR: The resulting maps show a clearly structured spatial pattern which appears related to the geological background and can be considered as proxy to a map of the geogenic radon potential, and allows identification of radon-prone areas, i.e. areas in which higher Rn radon concentrations can be expected for natural reasons.
Journal ArticleDOI

National survey of indoor thoron concentration in FYR of Macedonia (continental Europe – Balkan region)

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the first national survey on indoor thoron in continental Europe, which represented the first detailed statistical analysis of the geogenic and building factors which influence the indoor Thoron concentration.
Journal ArticleDOI

Long-term measurements of radon, thoron and their airborne progeny in 25 schools in Republic of Srpska.

TL;DR: The influence of the school geographical locations and factors linked to buildings characteristic in relation to measured concentrations were tested and showed weak relation only between C(Rn) and C(Tn) as well as between EERC and EETC.
