Journal ArticleDOI

Role of Hydrogen Sulfide in the Cardioprotection Caused by Ischemic Preconditioning in the Rat Heart and Cardiac Myocytes

TL;DR: It is suggested that endogenous H2S contributes to cardioprotection induced by IP, which effect may involve protein kinase C and sarcolemmal KATP channels.
Journal ArticleDOI

Endogenous hydrogen sulfide contributes to the cardioprotection by metabolic inhibition preconditioning in the rat ventricular myocytes.

TL;DR: Findings provide the first evidence that H2S may protect the heart most probably by activating sarcolemmal KATP channels and/or provoking NO release and the cardioprotective effects of metabolic ischemic preconditioning is, at least partially, mediated by endogenous H1N1.
