The invention provides a preparation method and use of a polygonum capitatum extract. The preparation method comprises the following steps of: extracting polygonum capitatum by using water or an aqueous alcohol system, recovering ethanol and making the extracting solution pass through a macroporous absorption resin; eluting by using water or eluting by using water and low-concentration alcohol, and eluting by using high-concentration alcohol; and collecting eluant, recovering a solvent under reduced pressure, and drying to prepare the polygonum capitatum extract, wherein the content of general flavone is no less than 8 percent and the content of gallic acid is no less than 2 percent. The extract has effects of clearing away heat and reducing fire and promoting diuresis for stranguria, mainly treats pyretic stranguria, and is used for treating urinary system infection and inflammation and other diseases.

Preparation method and use of extract

As a traditional Miao-nationality medicinal plant, Polygonum capitatum has been used in clinical practice for several thousand years. Its prescriptions, including three dosage forms: granules, capsule and tablet are known by the brand name Relinqing® and have played an indispensable role in the treatment of urinary system infection, pyelonephritis and kidney stones. However, no study about the comprehensive quality evaluation of Relinqing® has been reported. In the present paper, a method for the simultaneous determination of nine major compounds in three dosage forms of Relinqing® using HPLC coupled with triple quadrupole mass spectrometry (HPLC-QQQ MS) was established to comprehensively evaluate their quality. The nine compounds, including four phenolic acids, four flavonoids and a lignin, were analyzed with acceptable linear regression relationship (r2, 0.9923–0.9992), precision (RSD, 1.25%–2.78%), repeatability (RSD, 2.05%%–3.47%), stability (RSD, 1.84%–3.72%) and recovery (93.60%–108.54%, RSD ≤ 3.67%). The present study fills the gap in the multivariate quality control of Relinqing® and provides a valuable reference for quality standards and dosage reforming of this traditional Chinese medicine.

The invention discloses a process for preparing a dendrobium officinale freeze-dried powder. Compared with the prior art, the process disclosed by the invention is simple to operate, scientific and reasonable in step, free of solvent pollution or residue in the preparation process of the dendrobium officinale freeze-dried powder, low in preparation temperature, and capable of ensuring that bioactivity of functional substances of the dendrobium officinale is not lost.
