Freeze-thaw performance of a cement-treated expansive soil

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of adding cement to expansive soil was evaluated by focusing on the water loss, volume change, stress-strain response, unconfined compression strength, resilient modulus and strain at failure after a sequence of freeze-thaw cycles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hydraulic conductivity of gravelly soils with various coarse particle contents subjected to freeze–thaw cycles

TL;DR: In this paper, the hydraulic conductivity in gravelly soils containing various contents of gravel particle fraction under cyclic freezing-thawing was investigated, and the results showed that hydraulic conductivities significantly depend on gravel content, confining stress, number of F-T cycles and initial water content.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sustainable reuse of coarse aggregates in clay-based impervious core: Compactability and permeability

TL;DR: In this article, the results of a series of modified dynamic compaction tests and triaxial permeability tests performed on impervious clay materials reinforced with various contents of coarse aggregate were reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental study of the mechanical behavior of frozen clay–gravel composite

TL;DR: In this paper, four sets of CT scan experiments were used to determine the inner structural characteristics of CGCs with different gravel contents (10, 30, 50, and 70%).

Sample preparation device and method for tensile test of soil engineering and testing method

TL;DR: In this article, a sample preparation device and method for tensile test of soil engineering and a testing method are presented. But the sample preparation method is not suitable for the case of high dimensional data.
