Multi-objective Power Optimization of Microgrid with Distributed Generation

TL;DR: Reduction in losses and improvement in voltage profile proves the effectiveness of the proposed method for optimal energy management approach by using multi-objective optimization algorithm for two modes of micro grid operation.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

An economic optimization for BESS sizing in a hybrid PV and wind power plant

TL;DR: An analytical sizing strategy for a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in a Hybrid PV and Wind Power Plant (HPP), aiming at maximizing the operating profits of the HPP, achieved mainly through applying the battery to compensate for forecasting errors.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

A Probabilistic Simulation Model to Identify New Generation Investments

TL;DR: In this paper, a probabilistic simulation model is developed to identify the type and timing of new merchant generation opportunities in a spot electricity market, and the annual expected net revenues of new entrants are compared against the static revenue requirements to decide the dynamic investment plans.
Book ChapterDOI

Optimal Controller Design of a Wind Turbine with Doubly Fed Induction Generator for Small Signal Stability Enhancement

TL;DR: In this article, a multi-objective optimal controller design of a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) wind turbine system using differential evolution (DE) is presented, where a detailed mathematical model of DFIG wind turbine with a close loop vector control system is developed.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Distributed Consensus Control with Event-Triggered Communication for Multi-Microgrid Cluster

TL;DR: A benchmarking multimicrogrid cluster has been built in PSCAD/EMTDC software to validate that the proposed distributed controllers for voltage and frequency strategy can dramatically alleviate communication burdens without sacrificing microgrid performances in proportional power sharing, controller convergence and interval stability.
