A review of numerical analysis of friction stir welding

We consider a bilevel model where the leader wants to maximize revenues from a taxation scheme, while the follower rationally reacts to those tax levels. We focus our attention on the special case of a toll-setting problem defined on a multicommodity transportation network. We show that the general problem is NP-complete, while particular instances are polynomially solvable. Numerical examples are given.

A Bilevel Model of Taxation and its Application to Optimal Highway Pricing

The use of hesitant information in pairwise comparisons enriches the flexibility of qualitative decision making and allows for hesitant fuzzy linguistic preference relation (HFLPR). This paper develops separate consistency and consensus processes to deal with HFLPR individual rationality and group rationality. First, a possibility distribution approach and a 2-tuple linguistic model are introduced as support tools. Then, a new consistency measure is defined and a convergent algorithm described to aid the consistency improvement process in a given HFLPR. The algorithm adopts a local revision strategy and can be easily interpreted. Further, a direct consensus reaching process is presented to solve the HFLPR consensus problems. A prominent characteristic of this consensus reaching process is that the feedback system is based directly on the consensus degrees, thereby reducing the proximity measure calculations. Finally, the proposed consistency and consensus processes are applied to an investment project selection problem. The results and an in-depth comparative analysis verify the potential use and effectiveness of the proposed methods.

Managing consistency and consensus in group decision making with hesitant fuzzy linguistic preference relations

Linguistic large-scale group decision making (LGDM) problems are more and more common nowadays. In such problems a large group of decision makers are involved in the decision process and elicit linguistic information that are usually assessed in different linguistic scales with diverse granularity because of decision makers’ distinct knowledge and background. To keep maximum information in initial stages of the linguistic LGDM problems, the use of multigranular linguistic distribution assessments seems a suitable choice, however, to manage such multigranular linguistic distribution assessments, it is necessary the development of a new linguistic computational approach. In this paper, it is proposed a novel computational model based on the use of extended linguistic hierarchies, which not only can be used to operate with multigranular linguistic distribution assessments but also can provide interpretable linguistic results to decision makers. Based on this new linguistic computational model, an approach to linguistic large-scale multiattribute group decision making is proposed and applied to a talent selection process in universities.

Managing Multigranular Linguistic Distribution Assessments in Large-Scale Multiattribute Group Decision Making

With the increase of technological and societal demands, more and more decision makers are involved in the process of group decision making, which is called large-scale group decision making (LGDM). For an LGDM problem with linguistic information, it is common that different decision makers tend to provide linguistic assessments defined on multigranular linguistic term sets due to the difference in knowledge and culture background, and that hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets (HFLTSs) are used by decision makers to model the hesitancy of their assessments. This article proposes first an algorithm to represent a linguistic distribution assessment (LDA) using a hesitant linguistic distribution (HLD). Two other algorithms are then proposed to transform an unbalanced HFLTS into a balanced LDA and to transform a balanced LDA into an unbalanced LDA, respectively. An approach is then proposed to deal with multiattribute LGDM problems with multigranular unbalanced hesitant fuzzy linguistic information based on these algorithms. In the proposed approach, all unbalanced hesitant fuzzy linguistic information is transformed into LDAs defined on a balanced linguistic term set, and then an LDA-based clustering algorithm is devised to cluster decision makers. Based on the clustering result, decision makers’ linguistic distribution decision matrices are further fused to obtain collective assessments of alternatives. In order to provide easy-to-understand linguistic results for decision makers, all LDAs of alternatives are represented by HLDs defined on each decision maker's initial linguistic term set. Finally, an example for the selection of subway lines is used to demonstrate the proposed approach.

Managing Multigranular Unbalanced Hesitant Fuzzy Linguistic Information in Multiattribute Large-Scale Group Decision Making: A Linguistic Distribution-Based Approach

With the rapid development of information, communication and techniques, social network group decision making problems which allow information exchange and communication among experts are more and more common in recent years. How to use social relationships generated by social networks to promote consensus among experts has been becoming a hot topic in the field of group decision making. In this paper, we consider a new type of group decision making problems in which experts will provide his/her interval fuzzy preference relations over alternatives under social network environment and propose a new model to help experts reach consensus. In the proposed model, we first define the individual consensus measure and the group consensus measure, and then use a network partition algorithm to detect sub-networks of experts, based on which the leadership of experts can be identified. Afterwards, by considering the leadership and the bounded confidence levels of experts, a new feedback mechanism which can provide acceptable advice to experts who need to modify their opinions is devised and a consensus reaching algorithm is further developed. To demonstrate the performance of the proposed consensus model and algorithm, a hypothetical application and some simulation analysis are provided eventually.

Extended TODIM for multi-criteria group decision making based on unbalanced hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets

Due to the uncertainty of decision environment and differences of decision makers’ culture and knowledge background, multi-granular HFLTSs are usually elicited by decision makers in a multi-attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problem. In this paper, a novel consensus model is developed for MAGDM based on multi-granular HFLTSs. First, it is defined the group consensus measure based on the fuzzy envelope of multi-granular HFLTSs. Afterwards, an optimization model which aims to minimize the overall adjustment amount of decision makers’ preference is established. Based on the model, an iterative algorithm is devised to help decision makers reach consensus in MAGDM with multi-granular HFLTSs. Numerical results demonstrate the characteristics of the proposed consensus model.
