Methods for benchmarking building energy consumption against its past or intended performance: An overview

TL;DR: In this paper, up-to-date methods and tools available for energy benchmarking purpose are reviewed and it is hoped that researchers and building operators are more confident in choosing a proper method (or tool) during the commissioning process.
Journal ArticleDOI

A BIM-enabled information infrastructure for building energy Fault Detection and Diagnostics

TL;DR: A Building Information Modeling (BIM) enabled information infrastructure for FDD is proposed, which streamlines the information exchange process and therefore has the potential to improve the efficiency of similar works in practice.
Journal ArticleDOI

Three-dimensional curvy electronics created using conformal additive stamp printing

TL;DR: It is shown that conformal additive stamp (CAS) printing technology can be used to reliably manufacture three-dimensional curvy electronics and to create devices with curvy shapes, including electrically small antennas, hemispherical solar cells and smart contact lenses.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dissimilar friction stir welding of 6061 aluminum alloy and AZ31 magnesium alloy assisted with ultrasonic

TL;DR: In this article, a sound joint with smooth surface is obtained, resulting from the combined effect of stationary shoulder and ultrasonic, and the tensile strength and elongation of joint with ultrasonic reach 120 MPa and 1.5% which are higher than that without ultrasonic.
Journal ArticleDOI

A low cost seasonal solar soil heat storage system for greenhouse heating: Design and pilot study

TL;DR: In this article, a low cost Seasonal Solar Soil Heat Storage (SSSHS) system used for greenhouse heating was invented and investigated, and the system proved that seasonal thermal energy storage (STES) is feasible and can partially solve the solar heat demand and supply imbalance problem between summer and winter.
