Analytical solutions for steady seepage into an underwater circular tunnel

TL;DR: In this paper, a conformal mapping of the complex variable methods is derived for two-dimensional, steady ground water flow into a horizontal tunnel in a fully saturated, homogeneous, isotropic, and semi-infinite aquifer.
Journal ArticleDOI

Theoretical and experimental study of external water pressure on tunnel lining in controlled drainage under high water level

TL;DR: In this paper, a controlled drainage scheme is proposed for tunnels under high water level, for which there is no code provision for tunnel design and a suitable structure form is suggested and the distribution of water pressure on tunnel lining is studied by theoretical analysis.

Testing method of water pressure distribution law of subsea tunnel lining

TL;DR: In this article, a testing method of water pressure distribution law of a subsea tunnel lining is presented, and the method comprises the following steps: selecting similar materials to simulate a prototype tunnel surrounding rock mass and lining materials based on similarity theory, determining the shape of a testing template according to shape of the cross section of the water pressure-resistant lining, and completing the making of a model; arranging measuring points of the model, adopting a fiber Bragg grating to collect strain data of the structure, and adopting a U-shaped mercury manometer to carry out data acquisition of
Journal ArticleDOI

Mechanical responses in the construction process of super-large cross-section tunnel: A case study of Gongbei tunnel

TL;DR: In this article, a case study of super-large cross-section tunnel in Zhuhai, China is presented, where the tunnel construction risk is great because the stratum which the tunnel passes through is mainly silt and the construction procedure is complex.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental Investigation on Mechanical Characteristics of Waterproof System for Near-Sea Tunnel: A Case Study of the Gongbei Tunnel

TL;DR: Results indicate that the PWW method can reduce the water pressure and strain on the lining under the drained state, and more attention could be paid to the waterproof of the movement joints in the construction process, especially the invert.
