Electrospun carbonaceous fibers have emerged as promising electrode materials for application in energy storage devices. However, their relatively poor electrical conductivity (due to their amorphous carbon structures) and low capacitive performance lead to poor prospects for their further application. Herein, a universal synthesis of highly graphitized carbon nanofibers, containing various metal oxide nanoparticles (e.g., Fe2O3, NiO), by the pyrolysis of metal–organic framework (MOF)‐embedded electrospun nanofibers, is reported. The resulting carbon nanofibers exhibit large mesopore volumes, contain large quantities of Faradic metal oxide nanoparticles, and are highly graphitized. The fibers also have excellent mechanical flexibility, provide fast ion transfer characteristics, and a large pseudocapacitance combined with excellent electrical conductivity, leading to large specific capacitances. Consequently, asymmetric flexible hybrid supercapacitors assembled from Fe2O3‐embedded highly graphitized carbon nanofibers (FOCNF) and NiO‐embedded highly graphitized carbon nanofibers (NOCNF) exhibit a high energy density of 43.1 Wh kg−1 at a power density of 412.5 W kg−1 and possess excellent flexibility (capacitance retention of 94.4% at 180° bending and 96.2% at 30° twisting) with superior cycling stability. This strategy provides a new MOF‐based approach for the design and synthesis of multifunctional flexible carbonaceous materials and might lead to their further application in flexible energy storage devices.

Embedding Metal–Organic Frameworks for the Design of Flexible Hybrid Supercapacitors by Electrospinning: Synthesis of Highly Graphitized Carbon Nanofibers Containing Metal Oxide Nanoparticles

Nanocomposites consisting of carbon materials and metal oxides are generally preferred as anodes in electrochemical energy storage. However, their low capacitance limits the achieved energy density of supercapacitors (SCs) in aqueous electrolytes. Herein, we propose a rapid combustion strategy to construct a novel electrode architecture-ultrasmall Fe2O3 anchoring on carbon nanotubes (FeO-CNT)-as a superhydrophilic and flexible anode for SCs. In 1 M Na2SO4 aqueous electrolyte, such an FeO-CNT-20 anode presents a high capacitance of 483.4 mF cm-2 (326 F g-1) at 1 mA cm-2. The aqueous asymmetric supercapacitor devices (ASCs) assembled by FeO-CNT-20 and MnO2 present a maximum operating potential of 2.0 V with a high areal energy density of 0.11 mWh cm-2 at a power density of 0.5 mW cm-2. The flexible solid-state ASCs display an energy density of 0.99 mWh cm-3 at 14.3 mW cm-3. The rapidly prepared FeO-CNT not only offers an attractive electrode for SCs but also would open up exciting new avenues to the rational design and large-scale preparation of Fe2O3-based nanocomposites for electrochemical energy storage.

From the tic-tac-toe, an ancient chess game, which was invented thousand years ago, to modern wargames that take weeks to finish, board games have long been defined as a tool to create a platform for entertainment, education, and training of strategy in fields such as military affairs and economics. Development of technology is worthy of a rapier to the field of board games, both bringing new-published board games to tables worldwide and replacing them with more convenient entertainments such as video games or computer games. Towards this end, this thesis presents an analysis-driven review of board game domains and play-related attributes based on data from the world’s largest board game website - BGG. The analysis expects to make a clear view of the changes in users’ favors by comparing recent and former board games. And further investigate the relationships between their successes and inner attributes.
