Journal ArticleDOI
Thiamine requirement in the adult human as measured by urinary excretion of thiamine metabolites.
Journal ArticleDOI
The separation of hexosephosphates and triosephosphates by thin-layer chromatography.
TL;DR: The separation of hexoseph phosphates and triosephosphates may be obtained by use of TLC, using a cellulose adsorbent without binder, which resolved into well-defined spots while 3-phosphoglyceric acid and 2-ph phosphate did not separate.
Journal ArticleDOI
Excretion of thiamine and its metabolites in the urine of young adult males receiving restricted intakes of the vitamin.
TL;DR: Thiamine excreted in the urine decreased to less than 50 micrograms/day at the sixth day to the undetectable levels by the eighteenth day of depletion, and the pyrimidine moiety in the deficient individual appears to be further catabolized.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relative toxicity and metabolic effects of cholecalciferol and 25-hydroxycholecalciferol in chicks.
Robert L. Morrissey,Robert M. Cohn,Richard N. Empson,Harry L. Greene,O. David Taunton,Zigmund Z. Ziporin +5 more
TL;DR: Both microscopic renal lesions and increased renal calcium and inorganic phosphate concentrations occurred in chicks with normal serum calcium concentrations, and 100-fold increase in toxicity results when the hydroxylated form of CC is fed.
