TL;DR: The results indicate that target color cannot be used by the eye movement control system to elicit differential changes in motor output regardless of whether the color cues are randomly intermixed or presented sequentially.
Abstract: . When the head does not move, rapid movements of the eyes called saccades are used to redirect the line of sight. Saccades are defined by a series of metrical and kinematic (evolution of a movement as a function of time) relationships. For example, the amplitude of a saccade made from one visual target to another is roughly 90% of the distance between the initial fixation point (T0) and the peripheral target (T1). However, this stereotypical relationship between saccade amplitude and initial retinal error (|T1-Initial Eye Position|) may be altered, either increased or decreased, by surreptitiously displacing a visual target during an ongoing saccade. This form of saccadic adaptation has been described in both humans and monkeys. We investigated the effects of a contextual cue (target color) on the magnitude of human saccadic adaptation using an eye tracker to measure our subjects' eye position. Our results indicate that target color cannot be used by the eye movement control system to elicit diff...

TL;DR: In this paper, a pregeometric approach to quantum gravity is introduced over denumberable sets which employs the discrete uniform space D X and a uniformity base U B induced by a topological group.
Abstract: We begin by motivating a pregeometric approach to quantum gravity. A pregeometry is then introduced over denumberable sets which employs the discrete uniform space D X and a uniformity base U B induced by a topological group. The entourages of D X provide a non-metric notion of locality consistent with the open balls of a differentiable manifold, thereby supplying a pregeometric basis for macroscopic spacetime neighborhoods. Per the underlying group structure, entourages of U B provide a pregeometric model of quantum non-locality/non-separability, thereby supplying a pregeometric basis for microscopic spacetime neighborhoods. In this context, a robust pregeometric correspondance between microscopic and macroscopic spacetime structures is enumerated. Finally, we show how the pseudometric generated by a uniform space may be used to provide the M4 geodetic structure. This affine structure may produce a metric structure by requiring the covariant derivative annihilate the spacetime metric per standard Riemannian geometry. An example on S 2 is provided.

Abstract: The Jains have constituted a small but highly culturally significant minority community in the Indian subcontinent for thousands of years Probably best known for the profound commitment to an ethos of ahimsa, or nonviolence in thought, word, and deed, it is in the areas of nonviolence and ascetic practice that the Jains have had their greatest impact on the Hindu majority Key themes and topics of ongoing scholarly debate and discussion in relation to Jainism are the question of its origins, the relationship of Jainism to Hinduism, the roles of women—especially ascetics—in the tradition, Jainism and ecology, and finally, the distinctive Jain approach to religious pluralism contained in a set of teachings called the Jain doctrines of relativity—anekantavada, nayavada, and syadvada

TL;DR: A construct in marketing literature is "opportunism" which has been defined as "self-interest seeking with guile" as discussed by the authors, and it is defined as a self-interest-seeking-with-guile.
