Abstract: After intraperitoneal, subcutaneous, and intragastric treatment with a single dose of dibutylnitrosamine (DBN), Syrian golden hamsters showed mainly papillary tumors of the trachea. The experiments have shown that tumor incidence was dependent upon the administered dose without regard to route of application. A single dose (150–1600 mg/kg) of DBN did not lead to the development of neoplasms in the urinary bladder, as was found after chronic application of the compound.
