Abstract: In this letter we show that judicious modulation of non-data subcarriers renders a transmitted OFDM signal and a few of its higher-order derivatives continuous at the OFDM symbol boundaries. This novel approach results in reduced out-of-band emission: typically, it achieves over 30 dB power suppression at adjacent-channel center-frequencies.

Abstract: In this paper, detection timing and channel selection for periodic spectrum sensing are investigated to improve the performance of cognitive radio (CR) users. Designed to maximize the channel efficiency of CR users under a given level of interference with licensed users, the detection timing scheme utilizes the statistics of the licensed channel occupancy to determine the optimal starting point of each sensing action. A channel selection scheme in the multichannel multiuser environment is also proposed to specify which channel to detect for the upcoming sensing action based on detection timing. Numerical results demonstrate that our schemes considerably improve the overall channel efficiency while protecting the communication among licensed users.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a method for automatically configuring application terminals in a home network using a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and a Universal Resource Locator (URL).
Abstract: A device, a system, and a method for automatically configuring application terminals in a home network are disclosed. The method is as follows. A home gateway receives identifier information of an application terminal sent by the application terminal through a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). The identifier information of the application terminal is sent to a public network through a DHCP message, so as to determine a DHCP server corresponding to an automatic configuration server (ACS) of the application terminal. Address information of the ACS of the application terminal is obtained from the DHCP server on the public network through a DHCP message. The address information is transmitted to the application terminal, so that the application terminal obtains configuration information from the ACS according to the address information to perform an auto-configuration. Thus, a problem that the application terminal in a home network cannot directly obtain an ACS Universal Resource Locator (URL) through a DHCP message is solved, so that an auto-configuration of the application terminal is realized.

TL;DR: By designing the signal to be centrally symmetric in the time-domain, the symmetric samples can be added prior to multiplication with the replica sample, thereby saving one multiplication per two received samples.
Abstract: In this paper, we describe the signal design for primary synchronization channel adopted for E-UTRA cellular system. By designing the signal to be centrally symmetric in the time-domain, the symmetric samples can be added prior to multiplication with the replica sample, thereby saving one multiplication per two received samples. Furthermore, a pair of centrally symmetric P-SCH signals can be generated such that one signal is a complex conjugated version of the other signal. The multiplication complexity of detecting both these signals can be reduced to that of just one of the signals.

TL;DR: In this article, a group-sending address list is edited into the message body, making it more flexible for a user to assign destination recipients without being limited by the forms and numbers of recipients.
Abstract: A method for realizing a group-sending message service of the present invention is provided. The address information of a plurality of recipients assigned by a user is carried in a message body, and then a message application server finishes analyzing a group-sending flow directed to a plurality of users. The present invention further provides an apparatus for realizing the method and a system thereof. Since it needs performing communication between terminals and the server merely once, the network resource is saved. Because the group-sending address list is edited into the message body, it is more flexible for a user to assign destination recipients without being limited by the forms and numbers of recipients, and enriches the function of group-sending message service. Further, a provider can even supply a group-sending message to customers as a separate service, thus having a desirable commercial value.

TL;DR: ITU-T Embedded Variable Bit-Rate (EV-VBR) codec is presented, being standardized by Question 9 of Study Group 16 (Q9/16) as recommendation G.718, robust to significant rates of frame erasures or packet losses and several technologies are used to encode the MDCT coefficients for best performance both for speech and music.
Abstract: This paper presents ITU-T Embedded Variable Bit-Rate (EV-VBR) codec being standardized by Question 9 of Study Group 16 (Q9/16) as recommendation G.718. The codec provides a scalable solution for compression of 16 kHz sampled speech and audio signals at rates between 8 kbit/s and 32 kbit/s, robust to significant rates of frame erasures or packet losses. It comprises 5 layers where higher layer bitstreams can be discarded without affecting the lower layer decoding. The core layer takes advantage of signal-classification based CELP encoding. The second layer reduces the coding error from the first layer by means of additional pitch contribution and another algebraic codebook. The higher layers encode the weighted error signal from lower layers using MDCT transform coding. Sev-eral technologies are used to encode the MDCT coefficients for best performance both for speech and music. The codec performance is demonstrated with selected results from ITU-T Characterization test.

Abstract: This paper describes xENoC, an automatic and component re-use HW-SW environment to build simulatable and synthesizable Network-on-Chip-based MPSoC architectures. xENoC is based on a tool, named NoCWizard, which uses an eXtensible Markup Language (XML) specification, and a set of modularized components and templates to generate many types of NoC instances by using Verilog HDL. This NoC models can be customized in terms of topology, tile location/mapping, RNIs generation, different types of routers, FIFO and packet/flit sizes, by simply modifying the XML specifications. Furthermore, xENoC is also composed of software components, i.e. RNI drivers and a parallel programming model, embedded Message Passing Interface (eMPI), which let us to carry out a complete HW-SW co-design methodology to design distributed-memory NoC-based MPSoCs parallel applications. Through xENoC different distributed-memory NoC-based MPSoCs designs have been created simulated and prototyped in physical platforms (e.g. FPGA boards), and some parallel multiprocessor test traffic applications are running there as system level demonstrators.
