TL;DR: An input device for use in a vehicle steering assembly, the input device having at least one user-operable control member which is moveable between a deployed state and a retracted state when the control member is operable to provide an input to a vehicle control system as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: An input device for use in a vehicle steering assembly, the input device having at least one user-operable control member which is moveable between a deployed state and a retracted state When the control member is in its deployed state, the control member is operable to provide an input to a vehicle control system In a particular example, the or each control member is a paddle shaped lever which is used to send gear change requests to an automatic transmission, and the lever is retracted when gear change requests do not need to be sent

TL;DR: The application of combining radial basis function networks and a real-coded genetic algorithm to create the model is described for the engine test and it is shown that the proposed approach combining RCGA and RBF models is well suited for theengine test data modelling task.
Abstract: The engine test bed is introduced briefly and the importance of modelling for the engine test is discussed. The application of combining radial basis function (RBF) networks and a real-coded genetic algorithm (RCGA) to create the model is described for the engine test. Finally, the experimental results are analysed and it is shown that the proposed approach combining RCGA and RBF models is well suited for the engine test data modelling task.
