TL;DR: Destruction of Methylcholanthrene‐induced mouse sarcomas in tissue culture was mediated by lymphoid cells from syngeneic mice immunized with the same tumor and complement was not required for the reaction.
Abstract: Destruction of Methylcholanthrene-induced mouse sarcomas in tissue culture was mediated by lymphoid cells from syngeneic mice immunized with the same tumor. Serum or ascitic fluid from the same mouse had no effect. Complement was not required for the reaction. Target tumor cell monolayers growing on Millipore filters were destroyed by immune lymphoid cells added on the other side of the filter. The results suggest that some diffusible substance(s) elaborated by immune lymphoid cells plays an important role in ‘cell-mediated’ immune reactions in the syngeneic tumor-host system.

TL;DR: A plea is made for earlier referral and more complete work-up of all patients over 40 who present with dysphagia, to permit more effective use of the several modalities now available.
Abstract: Too often definitive diagnosis is delayed until treatment, by surgery, x-ray, or a combination of both, can offer relatively little; cure is not common and in many cases even the opportunity for palliation is minimal. A plea is made for earlier referral and more complete work-up of all patients over 40 who present with dysphagia. This would permit more effective use of the several modalities now available.

TL;DR: Lipoprotein levels in sera from 7 children with different types of cancer were measured and compared with those of 3 normal children, finding that the patients had low values for the high-density lipoproteins and highvalues for the very low- density lipoprotein fraction.
