TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the relationship between a measure of work group characteristics and both subjective and objective measures of group performance and found evidence of a relationship between specific work groups characteristics and various performance measures.
Abstract: This paper describes an investigation of the relationship between a measure of work group characteristics and both subjective and objective measures of group performance. To assess the relationship between the work group characteristics and performance, objective performance data and manager ratings were collected for customer service work groups who completed the measure. Correlational analyses provided evidence of a relationship between specific work group characteristics and various performance measures. In addition, a factor analysis of the measure provided a more parsimonious set of dimensions that were also related to the criterion measures. The results are discussed in terms of the factors related to work group effectiveness and their relevance to work groups in various types of organizations.

TL;DR: A method for extracting information from a document bearing (a) first indicia detectable in first scan mode, using light in a first spectral range, but not detectable in a second scan mode using light outside the first spectrum range, and (b) second indicia represented information encoded in one or more forms decodable by automated symbol recognition resources, comprises several steps as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: A method for extracting information from a document bearing (a) first indicia detectable in a first scan mode, using light in a first spectral range, but not detectable in a second scan mode, using light outside the first spectral range, and (b) second indicia detectable in either the first scan mode or second scan mode, where the second indicia represent information encoded in one or more forms decodable by automated symbol recognition resources, comprise several steps. One or more areas of interest on the document are defined in which the second indicia may appear, with the definition including information specifying the form of encoding for the second indicia. The document is scanned in the second mode, using a scanner that produces a pixel image of the indicia detected and the resulting pixel data are stored in a memory device. An area of interest is selected from those defined for the document and the pixel image of that area of interest is processed with an automated symbol recognition resource suitable for the form of encoding specified for the second indicia in the selected area of interest to produce one or more output records incorporating symbol information representative of the second indicia.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a system that manages patient information and assessment information associated with those patients, which maintains a list of patient records and links those patient records with assessment records.
Abstract: The present invention is a system that manages patient information and assessment information associated with those patients. The system maintains a list of patient records and links those patient records with assessment records. The present invention further utilizes assessment processing and reporting rules for managing, analyzing, and generating reports of assessment information. In a preferred embodiment, the reports are displayed by an efficient method of displaying repeated measures data, to assist a user in managing and objectively analyzing a patient's treatment.

TL;DR: In this paper, a desktop survey system for creating and scanning a survey form to be completed by a survey respondent, the survey form being printed on a scannable form having a pre-printed timing track that can be scanned by an optical mark scanner is comprised of a processor for entering, editing, and formatting customized questions and corresponding response areas and for adjusting and aligning the locations of the questions and response areas to be printed on the scanable form.
Abstract: A desktop survey system for creating and scanning a survey form to be completed by a survey respondent, the survey form being printed on a scannable form having a preprinted timing track that can be scanned by an optical mark scanner is comprised of a processor for entering, editing, and formatting customized questions and corresponding response areas and for adjusting and aligning the locations of the questions and response areas to be printed on the scannable form, a printer for printing the customized questions and the corresponding response areas on the scannable form to create a customized survey form, and an optical mark scanner and attached processing means for defining the fields to be scanned, scanning the survey forms and tabulating and analyzing the results.

TL;DR: In this article, four attitude variables (theft approval, company contempt, intent to quit, and dissatisfaction) were used to predict four types of deviant employee behavior (absenteeism, substance abuse, privilege abuse, and theft).
Abstract: Employee deviance is a serious problem for business owners. To reduce this problem, researchers have attempted to predict which employees are more likely to exhibit deviant behavior based on their attitudes. Although many researchers have successfully predicted various types of employee deviance from attitudes, very little information is available detailing which attitudes are more useful in predicting each type of deviant employee behavior. In the present study, four attitude variables (theft approval, company contempt, intent to quit, and dissatisfaction) were used to predict four types of deviant employee behavior (absenteeism, substance abuse, privilege abuse, and theft). Results show that each attitude has a specific and stable pattern of relationships with the four types of deviance.
