Abstract: This paper presents some important results of a thorough investigation into the seismic behaviour of a wide range of Base Isolated multistorey structures. The benefits of implementing BI systems are highlighted. The reduction and distribution patterns of lateral inertia forces due to the inclusion of this isolation system are specifically discussed.
