22 Oct 2008TL;DR: A cement composition comprises fine pumice particles, for use in underground wells, and oil and gas wells in particular as discussed by the authors, and their use in cementing underground wells is described.
Abstract: A cement composition comprises fine pumice particles, for use in cementing subterranean wells, and oil and gas wells in particular. The pumice containing cement blends feature enhanced compressive strength, and favourable compressive strength to Young's Modulus ratios. Lightweight cement blends containing pumice, and their use in cementing oil and gas wells are also described.

29 Aug 2005TL;DR: In this paper, a process for fracturing a selected region of a formation including: introducing a supply of fracturing fluid to the region of the formation until a first threshold is reached, adjusting the flow of the fracturing fluid in order to reach a second threshold, and ceasing flow of fluid to region of formation, the fluid being a non-participating gas and including a proppant in at least one of the stages of fluid flow.
