TL;DR: In this paper , a generalization of a transregional polylogarithmic model was proposed for continuously describing the transfer characteristics of polycrystalline and amorphous Thin Film Transistors (TFTs) at all levels of inversion.
Abstract: This article presents a generalization of a transregional polylogarithmic model, previously proposed for continuously describing the transfer characteristics of polycrystalline and amorphous Thin Film Transistors (TFTs) at all levels of inversion. The present generalization entails including the necessary drain voltage dependencies to be able to describe also the output characteristics. The model is tested by using it in the design and analysis of a CMOS inverter amplifier consisting of poly-Si n- and p-channel TFTs fabricated at low temperature and pressure. The transistors are biased below threshold so that the CMOS amplifier circuit operates in weak conduction, having in mind energy saving considerations. The validity of the proposed model has been ascertained by comparing model simulations to actual measured data from individual poly-Si TFTs and from the CMOS amplifier circuit. The simulations of the CMOS inverter amplifier are compared to the results obtained using look-up table-type simulations.

TL;DR: In this paper , a research experiment is presented using model weighting with the participation of 6 climate model experts and 6 hydrological model experts, where the expert elicitation process follows a three-stage approach, with two individual elicitations of probabilities and a final group consensus, where experts are separated into two different community groups: a climate and a hydrologogical modeller group.
Abstract: Various methods are available for assessing uncertainties in climate impact studies. Among such methods, model weighting by expert elicitation is a practical way to provide a weighted ensemble of models for specific real-world impacts. The aim is to decrease the influence of improbable models in the results and easing the decision-making process. In this study both climate and hydrological models are analyzed and the result of a research experiment is presented using model weighting with the participation of 6 climate model experts and 6 hydrological model experts. For the experiment, seven climate models are a-priori selected from a larger Euro-CORDEX ensemble of climate models and three different hydrological models are chosen for each of the three European river basins. The model weighting is based on qualitative evaluation by the experts for each of the selected models based on a training material that describes the overall model structure and literature about climate models and the performance of hydrological models for the present period. The expert elicitation process follows a three-stage approach, with two individual elicitations of probabilities and a final group consensus, where the experts are separated into two different community groups: a climate and a hydrological modeller group. The dialogue reveals that under the conditions of the study, most climate modellers prefer the equal weighting of ensemble members, whereas hydrological impact modellers in general are more open for assigning weights to different models in a multi model ensemble, based on model performance and model structure. Climate experts are more open to exclude models, if obviously flawed, than to put weights on selected models in a relatively small ensemble. The study shows that expert elicitation can be an efficient way to assign weights to different hydrological models, and thereby reduce the uncertainty in climate impact. However, for the climate model ensemble, comprising seven models, the elicitation in the format of this study could only reestablish a uniform weight between climate models.

TL;DR: In this article , an estudio orientado a analizar cómo las emociones and conocimientos of actores viales contribuyen a cambiar their interacción con la ciudad.

TL;DR: In this paper , the main results and advances achieved during more than 20 years of learning and working with the Pemón Indigenous peoples in northern Amazonia and the escalation towards new fire management policies in Venezuela are summarized.
Abstract:
Under the current changing climate and social governance conditions, wildfires occurrence in Latin America has become a critical issue, trespassing academic and technical disputes, and reaching sensible socio-political arenas. Developing a new vision and capacities for the integral and intersectoral management of wildfires instead of only fighting them requires the inclusion of multiple perspectives, actors and the rescue of the adaptive knowledge and practices of local communities that inhabit natural spaces. This paper summarizes the main results and advances achieved during more than 20 years of learning and working with the Pemón Indigenous peoples in northern Amazonia and the escalation towards new fire management policies in Venezuela. Our results reveal a sophisticated Indigenous knowledge system on using fire in the main subsistence activities, especially shifting cultivation and collaborative burning practices at the savanna-forests transition to protect forests from catastrophic wildfires. In addition, long-term fire experiments demonstrated that fire exclusion practices promote more severe wildfires by fuel accumulation, enhanced by the drier and warmer weather conditions. Through the inclusion of Indigenous peoples, firefighters, public officials and academics in field research and joint experimentation, as well as in debates and dialogues on socio-ecological aspects, a paradigm shift was successfully negotiated of fire that values the relevance of the ancient Pemón culture in Venezuela in the sustainable management of resources, as well as adaptation and mitigation capacity to climate change. Currently, these experiences are being capitalized to create a national integrated fire management policy preserving the same participatory, intercultural and intersectoral principles.
