TL;DR: Experiences from development and deployment of the Lega, a hand held device for physical sharing of experiences during an art exhibition, and some general observations regarding the systems performance are presented.
Abstract: This paper describes experiences from development and deployment of the Lega, a hand held device for physical sharing of experiences during an art exhibition. Touching and moving the device in different ways creates a tactile trace that can be experienced by others through their own device. The system was successfully deployed at an art exhibition for two months where user studies were performed. Here we present some general observations regarding the systems performance and discuss issues that we encountered.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for establishing a circuit switched call between a first electronic device and a second electronic device over a packet switched communication system, exchanging of capabilities of the first electronic devices and the second electronic devices, establishing a media component between the first and the other devices over the packet switched communications system was proposed.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for establishing a circuit switched call between a first electronic device and a second electronic device over a circuit switched communication system, exchanging of capabilities of the first electronic device and the second electronic device, establishing a media component between the first electronic device and the second electronic device over a packet switched communication system. In the method also radio access network information is obtained to the first electronic device. The first electronic device requests an in-band signal to the second electronic device for indicating an availability of a type of the media component. The second electronic device detects the in-band signal in the second electronic device and indicates the availability of the type of the media component on a user interface of the second electronic device.

TL;DR: A mobile service advertisement method and arrangement, wherein an advertisement server is used to determine the need for sending an advertisement message for a mobile user, is presented in this paper, where the message is sent in the form of SMS message.
Abstract: A mobile service advertisement method and arrangement, wherein an advertisement server is used to determine the need for sending an advertisement message for a mobile user. In the method the need for sending is determined by first trying the service and after failure by determining if the advertisement message has not been sent before and if the destination terminal device is a mobile device. If both conditions are met the advertisement message is sent in the form of SMS message.

TL;DR: The presented LCA-based method can be used when assessing the potential CO2e emission reduction from introducing an ICT-based service and on the effects of introducing smart work solutions at TeliaSonera.
Abstract: The presented LCA-based method can be used when assessing the potential CO 2 e emission reduction from introducing an ICT-based service. The method was used to analyze the CO 2 e emissions from the communication networks in Sweden as well as on the effects of introducing smart work solutions at TeliaSonera. For TeliaSonera the CO 2 e reductions resulting from smart work sum up to about 40% per employee, or over 2.8 ton CO 2 e per employee and year. The total reduction potential due to smart work in the world was estimated to be 2 % – 4% of global CO 2 e emissions, if reductions of 20% – 40% can be achieved per employee in a 10 – 20 year timeframe.

TL;DR: The results of the study show that the method expedites requirements elicitation and is effective, and the participants found the method useful, and worth using again, and were willing to recommend it to their colleagues.
Abstract: The objective of software development is to develop and modify systems to satisfy customer needs, on schedule and within the budget. The front end activities of software development are most important when customer needs are assessed and software requirements collected. This paper proposes a new group method for the elicitation of software requirements, and the method is validated with empirical case studies. The results of the study show that the method expedites requirements elicitation and is effective. The participants found the method useful, and worth using again, and were willing to recommend it to their colleagues.

Abstract: The present solution relates to a method for providing an enhanced communication service in a communications system. In the method, if it is detected in a network apparatus (that presence data received from a user terminal comprises modified presence information related to the user terminal, the method comprises analysing the type of the modification. If it is detected that the presence data comprises a predetermined type of modified presence information, the method comprises indicating that the presence data received from the user terminal comprises value-added presence information related to the user terminal.

TL;DR: This paper describes how a collection of modular safeguards, which are specific but still fairly atomic, are combined into requirement profiles that seamlessly integrate into the overall development approach.
Abstract: The specification of security requirements for systems of systems is often an activity that is forced upon non-security experts and performed under time pressure. This paper describes how we have addressed this problem by using a collection of modular safeguards, which are tailored to the application domain. These safeguards, which are specific but still fairly atomic, are combined into requirement profiles that seamlessly integrate into the overall development approach. These safeguards are grouped into 15 classes which subsume requirements that aim for low, medium and high security capabilities. Each requirement is further specified with a technical description defining actual values. To achieve a holistic coverage, we have created requirement profiles that define combinations of modular safeguards and have added complementary organizational safeguards. We will show how we have developed this approach over the years and present our practical experiences of the seamless integration into the development life cycle.

TL;DR: In this article, a method, a receiver, a computer program and a system for providing an interactive service in association with a motion picture service is described, in which a connection is formed that connects a plurality of participants to an interactive motion picture session, and a selection of a target area in the motion picture is received, the target area is translated to a coordinate system shared by each participant, and the graphical element is provided between the participants.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method, a receiver, a computer program and a system for providing an interactive service in association with a motion picture service. The motion picture is displayed to the spectator by means of a receiver being able to modify the motion picture displayed to the spectator and having a bi-directional network connection. The method, receiver, computer program and system are characterized in that a connection is formed that connects a plurality of participants to an interactive motion picture session, a selection of a target area in the motion picture is received, a selection of a graphical element to be associated with the target area is received, the target area is translated to a coordinate system shared by each participant in the interactive motion picture session and the graphical element is provided between the participants.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose a method for providing roaming protocol conversion between a home network and a visited network of a subscriber, the home network using a first roaming protocol and the visited network using either the first roaming Protocol or a second roaming Protocol.
Abstract: A method for providing roaming protocol conversion between a home network and a visited network of a subscriber, the home network using a first roaming protocol and the visited network using either the first roaming protocol or a second roaming protocol. The method comprises: noticing, in the home network, that the subscriber is moving to the visited network; sending, a first query to an internal DNS customer information database of the home network and a second query to an inter-service-provider roaming database to check, whether a gateway of the visited network requires a roaming protocol conversion to be used; if the roaming protocol conversion is needed, supplying this information to a conversion node locating in the home network, the visited network or a roaming network between them; and carrying out the conversion in the conversion node after the subscriber has moved to the visited network.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a call service in a communication system, where in response to recognizing a predetermined event related to a user terminal, it is checked whether the user terminal (UEA) is a roaming user terminal roaming in a visited packet switched network.
Abstract: The present solution relates to providing a call service in a communication system, where in response to recognizing a predetermined event related to a user terminal (UEA), it is checked (203, 204) whether the user terminal (UEA) is a roaming user terminal (UEA) roaming in a visited packet switched network. It is also checked (203, 204) whether the user terminal (UEA) is defined to use a home network routing function in the visited packet switched network. If the user terminal (UEA) is a roaming user terminal (UEA) roaming in the visited packet switched network and defined to use the home network routing function in the visited packet switched network, the home network routing function is over overridden by performing (209) a forced setup of the call service to a local circuit switched network.
